COP: To: Congressman / Senator

Fax: (202)

Subject: Energy Independent America

Dear Congressman / Senator,

If you do not know yet, 86% of all the energy used in the world today is from fossil fuels: coal, oil and gas. Between the U.S. and Canada, conventional and non-conventional sources: oil sands, oil shale and CTL (coal to liquids), we have enough fuel for complete energy independence for several hundred years. None of the alternatives or renewable sources are as economical, energy efficient, environmentally sound or have the potential to replace these great resources. We don't lack resources at all. This is purely a political ploy and perhaps struggle that prevents access to our fossil fuel rich country. It is sadly funny that liberals have no trouble filling up their gas guzzler car tanks with environmentally polluting Saudi oil but have a problem with American oil produced under the highest environmental standards in the world.

As we outlaw coal (we have the largest coal resources in the world at 25% of the world's coal), China, with half of our resources, adds two coal firing plants per week with no environmental controls.

Fossil fuel exploration and development—conventional and non-conventional—is the way to go to insure a sound economic future and energy independence for America.

To promote replacement alternatives and renewables is to promulgate a pipe dream.

For the sake of our country’s future I ask you to join The majority of Americans—76%—who want domestic fossil fuel exploration and development.

Don't waste time on alternatives and renewable energy that offer less than 5% of our energy needs and will NEVER replace fossil fuels. We can not guarantee that the wind will blow and the sun will shine. Ethanol takes arable land away from food production and produces 1/3 less energy per gallon using tremendous water resources for production.

Please vote for energy independent America; please vote for domestic fossil fuel exploration and development.

Thank you,
